Hi, I’m Nikita.

Thank you for stopping by, and checking out my creative space.

‘Nik-Cre,’ means Nikita creates. I’ll be sharing my ideas and DIY projects with you all, as I gradually make this place a Home. I bought my first Apartment in June 2017.  It’s a spacious 1 bed 1920’s duplex converted building, in the heart of Coventry. I’m surrounded by urban City life, but also in easy reach of the Countryside.

In the day, I work for a Charity educating and training Medical professional about Abuse; and advocating for the victims I support. Most evenings I put on my comfy shorts and t-shirt, and apply myself to sanding, painting, tiling, wallpapering. Whatever I have to do to reflect my visions of comfort, earthy elements, colour, and warmth.

I love feeling connected to where I am and that I belong; this is why comfort is so important to me. My mood boards feature a lot of wood, wicker, and cork. This highlights my love for nature and sustainable materials.  The feeling you get when you walk into a dark, pale and lifeless room; it’s just draining. The colours I use will promote motivation, vibrancy, and warmth.

So how will I pull this off? Well, we’re working to a budget. I’ll be skip diving, looking out for reclaimed items; and scanning thrift shops for the perfect finds.  For new items, I’ll be using the well known Honey extension for the best-priced goods. You are welcome to join me as I, ‘Make life-less rooms into living rooms. ‘
